A 6 week course Led by Erin Taylor
6 Wednesdays 7.30pm to 9pm
April 27 to June 1, 2016
Pa Maria, 78 Hobson St, Thorndon
Much of our inner monologue is stimulated by the belief that we’re not okay as we are, and that things are not okay as they are. We can all too easily justify this belief – there is so much that appears to urgently need changing. Our spiritual search may be driven by this perspective. However, instead of healing our problems, habitual negative thinking makes us feel dispirited and reinforces a nagging sense of unworthiness. Our meditation practice may often contract into inner struggle, self-judgment and resistance.
During this course we will examine the ‘not OK’ mind, its roots and how it shows up in our experience. We will explore spiritual teachings and practices which can help us to accept ourselves and others with grace and kindness. We can discover that inner peace and freedom are there for us, within our own hearts and minds, when we surrender our judgments and open to things as they are.
There will be guided meditations and dharma talks with opportunities for discussion.
