Our inner life can often resemble a chaotic and wild garden struggling to survive in an unsuitable climate. We can feel at the mercy of unwanted and negative thoughts, feelings and desires. We might judge ourselves harshly and seek to control or exterminate our difficulties. This “herbicide/pesticide” approach can end up poisoning us in subtle or obvious ways.
During this course we will examine our experience from the perspective of a kind and wise person tending a beloved garden. We will explore skilful means for dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings, and ways of nourishing the seeds of goodness and happiness in lives.
This six week course is suitable both for people new to meditation and for those wishing to deepen their practice.
